Fast Diet, Gradual Diet or Sensible Eating

A large variety of dieting ideas have been in the market and some of them have been very popular for a while. Now days there is lot of talk about intermittent fasting or Fast diet. I personally feel it can be good, to get body used to hunger. Time will tell, if it can deliver lasting results.

Question is should we do fast diet or gradual diet or simply eat sensibly according to the needs and capacity of our body?  I welcome your comments.

We are all individual or needs are different and our needs vary from time to time. Over indulgence in eating too much food is detrimental to health & wellbeing. It is even more harmful when it becomes an unconscious habit to over eat most of the time.

In my earlier blogs I have suggested Therapeutic Hunger:

Therapeutic Hunger is a method of mindful eating so as to eat according to individual needs and capacity. The practices focus on actions that allows enough space abdominal cavities that is necessary for the organs to functional normally.

Practice Therapeutic Hunger today!

Share your suggestions.

Best Wishes for wonderful physical and mental health.

  1. I hate the word diet because it implies something fast and short term. I prefer the term Lifestyle, because that’s long term and has measureable results over a sustained period of time. 🙂 But that’s just me! I live a Paleo lifestyle – all the lean meat, fruit and veg you can eat. No portion control, no counting calories…just eat til you are full and eat when you are hungry. The things you are eating are more nutrient dense so you stay full longer so you don’t snack as much. In my humble opinion, this is th emore sustainable option.

  2. “Diets” do not work, you need to change your lifestyle and habits. Eat real food and the rest takes care of itself. My clients hear this phrase of mine first when talking food intake “If you can’t kill it or pick it you shouldn’t eat it”.
    Simple.
    Effective.

    • Very good message about the type of food, please also educate people about how much to eat so the digestion of food is optimal, nutrients are absorbed well and waste is eliminated properly. Overeating even best of the best foods could be counter productive. Thanks and Best Wishes

    • Yes, fasting can be counterproductive in many cases. The concept of Therapeutic Hunger is far from fasting, in fact it is much closer to over eating than fasting. The idea is to eat just the right amount to optimise digestion of food, absorption of nutrients and appropriate elimination of waste. Both fasting and over eating could be harmful when practiced regularly. Just now and then may be OK.

      Best Wishes
